Emerging 20 years ago from the heart of Qatar, Barwa continues to thrive towards the future.
Since its establishment 20 years ago, Barwa Real Estate Group has reinforced its position as a driving force of modern urban development anchored in creativity, innovation, and progress. The Group provides fully integrated solutions to its clients through a diverse portfolio of projects that span across the entire country: from Doha to Al Wakra and Mesaieed to the south, Al Khor and Ras Laffan to the north, Mukaynis, Dukhan, and Zekreet to the west, and into the heart of Lusail City to the east.

In alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030, Barwa plays a crucial role in driving the State's urban and economic growth. Its main goal is to meet the evolving needs of the real estate market while achieving sustainable development that serves both its clients and shareholders.

With total assets of QAR 37 billion, Barwa Real Estate holds the largest operational real estate portfolio in Qatar, distributed across 40 projects and covering approximately 6 million square meters of built-up area. This extensive portfolio includes:

  • 70,000 residential units, comprising villas, apartments, and labor accommodations.
  • 20 educational facilities: 10 schools serving all academic levels, 2 private schools, 8 schools developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, along with 10 nurseries and kindergartens.
  • 400,000 square meters of commercial space.
  • 500,000 square meters of logistics and warehouse facilities.
  • 350 hotel rooms and serviced apartments.
  • Three subsidiaries forming an integrated asset management ecosystem.

Barwa has also developed and invested in several landmark local and international projects, some of which were later sold with a combined value exceeding QAR 26 billion. Notable examples include the Commercial Street Project, the largest commercial street in Qatar, Qatar Energy Towers which host the country's largest group of administrative towers, Mesaimeer City, and the Park House Project located on Oxford Street in London.
Additionally, the Group owns a substantial land bank of 2 million square meters, mostly located within Qatar. This land reserve secures Barwa's ability to expand in the future and supports its long-term growth strategy. Such diversification within its portfolio not only provides resilience against real estate market fluctuations but also enhances Barwa's role in driving the country's economic growth in line with Vision 2030, ensuring sustainable returns for its shareholders.

To manage this vast portfolio, Barwa has over the past 20 years established leading subsidiaries within Qatar's services and facilities sector, most notably:

  • Qatar Project Management (QPM), specializing in real estate project development management.
  • Waseef Asset Management, a recognized leader in property management and maintenance services.
  • As part of its income diversification strategy, Barwa also established Barwa Cooling Company, which operates two chilled water production plants in Mesaimeer with a combined production capacity of 37,600 tons.

The Group is equally committed to strengthening its strategic partnerships with the State of Qatar, ministries, and affiliated institutions, guided by its belief in its responsibility as a foundation of Qatar's development. Its collaborations with government entities span multiple frameworks, including BOT and PPP, alongside other successful models that support many of the State's urban development initiatives in which Barwa actively participates.
