Barwa Signs Deals in Barwa Commercial Avenue and Barwa City

"Doha - Qatar, Sunday 02 June 2013: Barwa Real Estate Group, one of the leading real estate and investment companies in Qatar, signed successful deals during Cityscape Qatar 2013 which was held last week from 27 to 29 May at Doha Exhibition Centre.

The group signed leasing contracts for units in both Barwa Commercial Avenue and Barwa City with Lulu Hypermarket, Tanween & Ansar City. Under this agreement, Tanween will be able to run a total of six buildings in Barwa City, while Ansar City will be occupying a showroom over an area of 27,000 square meters in Barwa Commercial Avenue.

Eng. Ahmad Abdulla Al Abdulla – Deputy GCEO and Eng. Mohamed Jassim AlOthman – Director of Group Real Estate Assets attended the signing from Barwa Real Estate, as well as Mr. Ali Akbar Sheikh Ali – Chairman of Ansar City and Mr. Mohamed Altaf – Regional Manager for Qatar & Egypt from Lulu Hypermarket and Eng. Mohammed Abdulrahman Fakhro – CEO of Tanween.

Eng. Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Subaie, Board Member and Group CEO of Barwa Real Estate said: ""We are pleased with the overwhelming response from audiences and visitors for Cityscape Qatar. The business we have done so far and the deals we signed are great examples on the dynamic contribution of Barwa towards the national development plans”.

Barwa had showcased some of the group’s leading projects while in Cityscape Qatar. Those included Dara project in Lusail City and the proposed ideas of Oryx Island & Gulf Resort.

Eng. Abdulla Al Subaie – Group CEO of Barwa Real Estate was also a keynote speaker in the first Qatari real estate summit, attended by the leaders of real estate industry from Qatar and the world. During his speech, Al Subaie tackled the solid foundations necessary for executing Qatar Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy 2011 – 2016. He talked about the importance of those plans in shaping the ambitions of enhancing infrastructure and maximizing the effective role of private investments as well as public and private companies.

Al Subaie added: “the significant growth in foreign direct investment (FDI) Index proves that Qatar has achieved great results in attracting this type of investment into Qatar. Today, Barwa provide opportunities for foreign investors to be able to buy real estate properties in Lusail City through Barwa new development, Dara, located near the zones which will be hosting opening and final games of the World Cup 2022."
